The Sale of Handmade Goods


Items are produced on a one off or small batch basis. Where possible an image of the actual item for sale will be used to illustrate but please note that due to the nature of handmade goods that for batch made items the actual item for sale may differ slightly in appearance.




Prices on this website include VAT at the current rate of 20%. Delivery will then be added during the order process. A standard delivery charge will be applied for Royal Mail Special Delivery to UK mainland, If you wish to purchase from outside of UK mainland then please email your request and a specific delivery charge will be calculated.


Placing an Order

When you place an order with us you are offering to buy the goods you order, there is no commitment on us to supply those goods until the order has been accepted


Goods are subject to availability, some items are held in stock and some items will be made to order. Stock items are normally dispatched within 1-2 working days and delivery can take up to a further 3 days. Where items are made to order a maximum period of six weeks will be allowed for manufacture and delivery of the goods. Once your order has been placed you will be informed of an estimated turnaround time. Should this timescale not be suitable then you will have the option to cancel or amend the order. Any specific requirements and delivery deadlines can be discussed on an individual basis. Once the order has been made and delivery schedule accepted by the purchaser the order will be accepted by Designs of the Times. Once accepted you are now contractually obliged to purchase the goods.

Designs of the Times reserves the right to remove any item from sale, amend prices at any point up until acceptance of order. 

Payment via Pay Pal


Payments on this website are only taken via the Pay Pal system. Existing Pay Pal account holders will be directed through the process as normal. If you do not have an account you will be invited to set one up. Once you have an account you can then pay via your account balance or by any of the credit or debit cards accepted by Pay Pal.

Pay Pal is a third party system, in setting up an account you agree to follow Pay Pal terms and conditions as given on their website. Designs of the Times accept no responsibility for the content of websites other than our own even if linked from our site.




Standard delivery from this website is restricted to UK mainland only. Orders outside of the UK can be accommodated but this will be via prior arrangement so that delivery costs can be calculated.

All standard UK deliveries will be made via Royal Mail first class Special delivery and will require a signature. Deliveries can only be made to the confirmed address within Pay Pal or the registered credit / debit card address. Delivery timescales are subject to the Royal mail terms for first class special delivery and this will normally be within three working days however Designs of the Times accepts no responsibilities for any delays as this is not a deadline guaranteed service.

If you do require a guaranteed timescale delivery then please inquire via email and a specific delivery option may be available.




Cooling off period

We hope that you are happy with your purchase but if you are not for whatever reason then please let us know and we will be happy to offer a refund or exchange (assuming that the item is still in it's original condition and complete with presentation box).


Please contact us via email and confirm that you wish to make a return / exchange and it would also be helpful if you could provide a brief note on the reason for return. Return postage costs will not be refundable and returns should always be made via recorded delivery for tracking and insurance purposes.


If you wish to return a bespoke item eg sized ring then a reselling fee* may be incurred. A percentage of the original sale price will then be deducted from the final refund. Reselling fees are dealt with on an item by item basis.

* a reselling fee is a cost applied to a refund on return of an item manufactured to specific customer requirements be it design or size etc. Reselling fees will not be applied to faulty or damaged in transit returns.

This does not affect your statutory rights


Damaged during delivery

Items damaged in transit should be notified within three days of receipt (excluding weekends) and returned in the original packing for a refund or replacement once the returned goods are received. Please note that you may be required to provide proof that the items were damaged in transit and you must also accept that the goods may require inspection by either us or the carrier.
